Description

The New Style Air Tester is used to test air content in bottles and cans. The instrument pierces the can or bottle through a sealed piercing needle. The air inside the can or bottle rushes through the piercing needle, across a pressure gauge (for instant pressure reading), and into the specially designed buret filled with a solution of 30% sodium hydroxide. CO2 from the air is absorbed by the caustic solution as it passes through, leaving the remaining air from the can or bottle. The air is measured by reading its displacement of sodium hydroxide solution in the buret.
